“Intune” by Claudia Goagara, presented the “Interlude” collection this week at MFWA16. A chic and elegant line of cocktail and evening dresses, “Interlude” is the first collection to be showcased under this new brand. Inspired by the “blooming spring,” these cocktail and formal dresses have an ultra feminine feel and exhibit influences from Valentino and Christian Dior.
Feminine designs are tailored from rich, textured fabrics, sumptuous trims and embellishments such as embroidery and fabric manipulation. A luminous color palette blends together soft pastels, blush tones, gold and bold black to complete a definitively feminine aesthetic. Pale pink lace surrounded by pink flower adornments decorated a tightly fitting knee length dress with a plunging V-neck. Classic cocktail dresses were modernized by exposed shoulders and bell sleeves. Bouquets of tulle decorated the shoulders of sweetheart A-lines. Striking black gowns swept the floor with tulle tails and captured the eye with lace and tulle adornments. A candy pink tulle train came from the rear of a voluminous pale pink box-pleated sweetheart ball gown. Contrasting the formality of the line, a Barbie pink sweetheart A-line with large scale pink and white flower graphics swept the floor; a long matching cape flowing from the waist.
A distinctive mashup of modernized classic cocktail styles, incandescent in luminous colors, complete the striking appeal of this collection. Cocktail dresses and formal gowns in the Interlude collection elude to a classical time of couture but surprise us with modern touches in fabrics, embellishments, and manipulation. Tune in to “Intune” for your go to gown when a classy event calls.
