Thursday night we viewed the latest collections at Sarto, in the ethereal Garden of Serenity at Santa Lucija. The ambience was elegant and tranquil, with lighted pathways around the garden. Chinese style structures stood high, one housing assortments of food, catered by Zest, and the other displaying dazzling collections of shoes. A bar stood beside the shimmering pond, serving the finest selection of beverages. Attendants, dressed in their best walked around the venue sociably chatting until the show began.

Intense cultural music came through the speakers as an Asian dancer performed a dramatic interpretive dance routine. The intensity of the dance set the mood for the passionate looks that were coming next down the Sarto garden runway.

Models zigzagged their way across the wide runway showing designs by Emporio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Blumarine. Armani presented a consistently playful variety of stripes in menswear. Blumarine’s approach was much more organic with long flowing gown in silks and sheers; floral appliques and embroidery decorated in asymmetrical patterns. We saw a Spanish motif in designs by Dolce & Gabbana with reds, blacks, whites, and touches of gold. Polka dots, black lace and giant heart embellishments all contributed to this romantic theme as models played the role with big red roses pinned in their hair.

The weather was lovely, the company was great, and best of all, the fashion was exquisite. Attendants and participants all enjoyed a breath of fresh air and tranquility that night in the Garden of Serenity.
