#MALTAFASHIONWEEK2022 – Malta Fashion Week Returns for 2022 Edition! … and the show continued at The Grand Harbour Terrace at the Mediterranean Conference Centre.
The Malta Fashion Week 2022 Edition will be held in Valletta at the Grand Harbour Terrace, on the rooftop of the Mediterranean Conference Centre. Following last year’s success, the event will again be held as a limited, upscale 3-day event.
The event will be held on the 20th, 21st, and 22nd July. On each of these days, our guests will immerse themselves in our fashion industry and be able to explore the new collections from both our established local designers as well as some hot newcomers. We are also proud to confirm that we have also invited designer Nadya Dzyak who is a resident of Ukrainian Fashion Week to form part of our lineup. Severe war in Ukraine has prevented Ukrainian Fashion Week from being held this autumn but after discussions with Ukrainian Fashion Week and with a complete understanding of how important it is for an artist to be given their chance to showcase on an international stage, Malta Fashion Week has elected to offer support with this warm invitation for Ukrainian designer Nadya Dzyak.
We will kick off the event with South African designer Ferreira Couture, followed by hot newcomer, local swimwear brand Bajja, the first night will end with the fabulous Parascandalo who returns to Malta Fashion Week for the 8th consecutive year. The second day begins with our guests from Serbia Fashion Week – Morfium; our collaboration continues as strong as ever; then it’s Blakkript, a local designer who returns for the second year to Malta Fashion Week. The day ends with designer artist James Dimech who will be crafting wearable fashion from paper. The third day will host the much loved local brand Gagliardi and then it’s our guest from Ukrainian Fashion Week Nadya Dzyak, closing the night and fashion week itself it’s the celebrated local duo Charles&Ron.
On each day, our guests will be treated to an array of fashion art followed by the option of an afterparty during which guests are able to relax and dance the night away.
The road to this event has been challenging; after two years of limited opportunities for the local entertainment industry as well as Maltese Fashion Artists to grow and evolve, the bounce back is not an immediate one. Nonetheless, the team behind Malta Fashion Week 2022, all the designers participating, makeup artists, hair stylists, photographers, fashion stylists and the entire backstage crew are as committed as ever to making this event the show-stopping success it has always been.
The Malta Fashion Week 2022 is organised by Adrian J Mizzi, supported by a Partnership Agreement for Large-Scale Events and Initiatives with the Valletta Cultural Agency within the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government. It is also supported by the Malta Tourism Authority believes that Malta Fashion Week can be an important gateway to position Malta as a destination for arts and culture.
