#MALTAFASHIONWEEK2021 – What a night! DAY 1 AT MALTAFASHIONWEEK 2021 was held last night and it felt so good to be back. The audience was all set and dressed up for a night of fashion and entertainment set against the beautiful backdrop that is our Maltese Islands. The show was held at The Grand Harbour Terrace at the Mediterranean Conference Centre.
The first night was kicked off by Yana’s Jewellery, Eversince and Parscandalo.
Yana’s Jewellery presented Retro Dreams. Retro dreams is inspired by an electric Retro styled keyboard from the 80-90’s era. The collection consists of monochrome outfits combined with bright, funky bold neon-pastel statement pieces, symbolising parts of the keys and tabs found on the keyboard. Mismatched pastel earrings, colourful bracelets and asymmetrical looped necklaces are a girl’s dream to wear to a summer festival party. This collection is a reminder that any girl can make her dreams come true. The hair and Makeup Department is led by Elaine Galea. The lead Hair Stylist for the show was Neville Roman Zammit, Lead Makeup Artist was Lyanne Sawyer.
EVERSINCE presented ‘The Secret’ – a unique collection featuring a grey tone colour palette with a touch of light blue and red, primarily inspired by The Laws of The Universe. These one-of-a-kind designs and streetwear pieces incorporate hidden messages and art prints that surely highlight their unique aspects. The hair and Makeup Department is led by Elaine Galea. The lead Hair Stylist for the show was Vanusia Mifsud, Lead Makeup Artist was Marlene Vassallo.
PARASCANDALO presented ‘TRIP’. The collection is a journey or rather a trip around our gorgeous islands. From the beautiful aqua sea to the luminous nighttime streets full of possibility and promise, this collection shows an unabashed craving for all the moments missed in the past months. The hair and Makeup Department is led by Elaine Galea. The lead Hair Stylist for the show was Lee Grixti, Lead Makeup Artists were Chris Attard and Deandra Bugeja.
In between the shows, guests were also treated to some great local music talent from artists Eddie Fresco, Caro Etern and Jasmine Abela.
Malta Fashion Week was only made possible after a year of pandemic-related hiatus with help from various entities. We have received help through a grant from the Valletta Cultural Agency and the Malta Tourism Authority who are supporting the promotion of Malta Fashion Week worldwide. We have also received support from the Mediterranean Conference Centre and other sponsors from the private sector – Jaguar Landrover (who retain their position as our Title Sponsors) and General Soft Drinks (Coca Cola), Fashion Beverages, Eva Garden, Aldo Shoes and Zen Express to go.
We also express gratitude to our suppliers; Nexos Lighting, MFCC, Best Team Audio, Sign It, Logo Express and our media partners Bay Radio and Lovin Malta.
