This year’s edition of Malta Fashion Week and Awards sees the launch of a new musical score that is expected to become the new audio branding at all MFWA 2015 events and on promotions being aired on broadcast media and online.
The original piece has been composed and produced by accomplished Maltese composer and artist Noel Calleja. Mr. Calleja scored several compositions for international productions including several TV commercials and the highly acclaimed crime series CSI, CSI Miami, Criminal Minds and Love Never Dies. He was also the main orchestrator for the American Spartacus television series aired in Europe through Bravo television channel and has now been contracted to score the Devil’s Revenge, a sequel to the Devil’s Double film, which is being recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London with a full 140 musicians real live orchestra. Mr. Calleja plays the piano, violin, viola and soprano saxophone and has now started to learn the electric guitar.
“The music that I composed, orchestrated and recorded for the Malta Fashion Week & Awards was inspired by a colourful rainbow in the sky that I could see from my recording facilities after a heavy thunder storm”, explained Mr. Calleja; “the seven blending musical moods represent the seven colours of the rainbow that blend with each other to create an inspiring colourful arch.”
He composed the music on Notion 3 notation software using his own personal sound library from the London Symphony Orchestra, to create the real feel and sound of an orchestra together with other sound commercial libraries namely the EastWest/Quantum Hollywood Orchestral packages and the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra libraries. The full project was then recorded and edited on the Sonar X3 Producer digital audio workstation and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in the UK. Noel Calleja is regularly supported by Roland, Notion Music, AVID, Solid State Logic and SONY. His recording facilities are capable to record on several platforms, including 5.1 digital surround sound.
