Now in its fifth edition, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Malta 2015 promises to be an amazing week of superb fashion shows, parties and events that reach the highest standards of similar fashion weeks held in other fashion capitals worldwide. The magnificent capital city of Valletta will be showcasing some of Malta’s best talent in the fashion industry from fashion designers to catwalk models, stylists and make-up artists, photographers, bloggers, writers and other fashionsitas. The week of events culminates at the Shipbuilding Warehouse in Marsa, which is being converted to host the largest fashion party event ever held in an indoor space.
Preparations for the final awards night start months in advance with the setting up of a selection board to invite applications from eligible candidates. Once these are vetted for conformity with the regulations, an adjudication panel shortlists up to four nominees for each award category. These nominees are then published and the public can participate in public voting making up to 10% of the final weighting. The remaining 90% of the voting comes from an expert panel elected purposely for each category. These panels change annually in each edition.
Now in its 17th edition, this is the most anticipated fashion party of the year. Apart from handing out the much coveted awards to the top people in fashion this year, the event includes spectacular hair shows from the finalists of The Wella Trend Vision Awards, a gathering of fashion shows held during the whole week, plus international designers from various countries.
Foreign media including the worldwide fashion television channel FTV are expected to cover the event on an international scale.
A massive crowd of fashionistas and party people thronged to the Marsa Shipyards last night to enjoy the 18th edition of Malta’s biggest fashion party – the Chamilia Malta Fashion Awards 2015.
Seating at the International Designers Show went from Pjazza San Gorg into the vaulted entrance of the Grandmaster’s Palace using this gorgeous entrance way as the backdrop for the show.
